Position Overview

As an R&D Engineer at INERGIO, you will play a key role in the development, testing, and optimization of next generation fuel cell systems. You will work hands on across components ,subsystems, and full system assemblies, contributing directly to performance improvements, reliability, and manufacturability.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working close to the hardware, values structured experimentation, and wants to see their work move from lab testing to real operational use cases. You will collaborate closely with R&D engineers, operations, and the business team to ensure that technical solutions meet both performance targets and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of fuel cell components, stacks, and integrated power systems.
  • Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using 2D and 3D CAD toolsat both subsystem and system level.
  • Plan and execute experimental test campaigns to evaluate performance,durability, and reliability.
  • Analyze test data, identify root causes, and propose design or processimprovements.
  • Support system assembly, integration, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with operations and industrialization teams to improvemanufacturability and scalability.
  • Document designs, test results, and engineering decisions in a clear and structured manner.
  • Support customer and application specific adaptations when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in MechanicalEngineering, Microengineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials behavior, and thermalsystems.
  • Experience creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for mechanical systems andassemblies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and design formanufacturability principles.
  • Hands on experience with materials testing and characterization.
  • Experience with coatings development or surface treatments is a strong plus.
  • Experience with fuel cell components, stacks, or electrochemical systems is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory and prototype driven environment.
  • Applicants must hold a valid permit to work in Switzerland.
